About James Hardy

James Hardy is a proud North Dakota native currently living in Oregon with a passion for the great outdoors.  James has a unique eye for detail and offers an unsurpassed view from his lens.    He has won multiple photo contests and awards for his photography talents.  James is a retired U.S. Marine whose patriotism runs deep.  He served in Afghanistan from 2009-2010 and is particularly proud of his work that was chosen from among thousands of submissions to be part of “Serving Abroad...Through Their Eyes.  This was a multivalent project, undertaken by the office of Art in Embassies of the Department of State, in collaboration with the Department of Defense, in honor of AIE’s 50th Anniversary.  James’ work is included in a still image photography exhibition that was hosted by the Pentagon and other venues.   It was also included in a video-art collage by artist Lincoln Schatz, which was created for the permanent collection in the new U.S. embassy in Kabul.  “Through Their Eyes” is  featured on AIE’s website.
